Who we are

Curtain Zone is a curtains and blinds supply and installation business based at Shop 4&5, 1 Van Riebeeck Road, Kuils River, Cape Town. When you send an enquiry, Curtain Zone is the business that receives it and uses it to quote, measure and install.

This website, curtainzone.co.za, and the pipeline behind its contact form are built and run by Lefty23 (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/706220/07, a private company registered in South Africa and based in Cape Town. Its postal and physical address is available on request from [email protected] and is on the public CIPC register against that registration number.

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Lefty23 (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for this website and its analytics, and it handles contact form enquiries as an operator on behalf of Curtain Zone, which is the responsible party for your enquiry once it reaches the business. The Information Officer is the director of Lefty23 (Pty) Ltd, registered with the Information Regulator under registration 2026-066332 and reachable at [email protected].

What information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us. This typically includes:

• Your name, phone number and/or email address when you contact us via WhatsApp or the website contact form
• Your address when arranging a measure or installation visit
• Any photos or window measurements you send us to assist with quoting

The contact form on this website asks for your name, your phone number and/or email address, the area you are in, your message, and whether you would prefer a reply by WhatsApp, phone or email. It also sends the page you first landed on during your visit, so we can tell which page produced the enquiry.

We do not operate any account registration, payment processing, or newsletter system on this website.

Where your enquiry goes

When you press send, the form posts your details to forms.lefty23.co.za, a Cloudflare Worker run by Lefty23 (Pty) Ltd for the sites it operates. The Worker checks the submission for spam and then delivers it two ways, so that one channel failing never loses your enquiry:

• by email, sent through Resend, to Curtain Zone's mailbox, which is a Google mailbox, and to Lefty23 (Pty) Ltd
• as a row in a private Google Sheet leads log, holding the date and time, your name, phone number, email address, area, preferred contact method, message and the page you came from

So your enquiry is stored: in that leads log and in the mailboxes it is emailed to. It is not published anywhere, it is not sold or shared for marketing, and nobody outside Curtain Zone and Lefty23 (Pty) Ltd is given access to it. Cloudflare sees the IP address the form is sent from and uses it to limit abuse, and that address is not written into the email or the leads log.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide solely to:

• Prepare and send quotes for curtains and blinds
• Arrange measure and installation appointments
• Follow up on your enquiry if you have not yet responded

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

WhatsApp communication

When you contact us via WhatsApp, your messages are subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy (Meta Platforms, Inc.). We use WhatsApp only to communicate with you about your enquiry and order. We do not add you to any broadcast lists or groups without your explicit consent.

Website analytics

This website uses Umami Analytics, which Lefty23 (Pty) Ltd hosts on its own server rather than using a third-party analytics service. Umami sets no cookies, does not follow you between websites, and records anonymous page view counts and general usage patterns to help us improve the site. That server is in Finland.

Cookies and what this site stores in your browser

We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies on this website. Umami Analytics operates without cookies.

The site does save one item in your browser's session storage, under the key cz_attr, the first time you arrive. It holds the page you landed on, the utm_source value if the link you followed carried one, and the domain that referred you. It is sent with the contact form so we can tell which page produced an enquiry, and your browser discards it when you close the tab.

The map on our contact page

The contact page embeds a map from Google Maps. When that page loads, Google receives your IP address and the fact that the map was requested, under Google's own privacy policy. Nothing else on the site loads third-party content: the fonts are served from this site rather than from Google Fonts.

Information sent outside South Africa

Some of the services above hold information outside South Africa: Cloudflare, which serves this website and runs the contact form; Resend, which sends the enquiry email; Google, which holds the mailbox that receives it and the leads log; and the Finnish server that runs our analytics. Each processes the information as our operator and is bound by its own data protection commitments, as section 72 of POPIA permits.

How long we keep your information

We keep WhatsApp conversations, enquiry emails and the rows in the leads log for as long as they are useful for your order and any follow-up or warranty question. We have not set a fixed deletion period for them. If you ask us to delete your information, by WhatsApp or by writing to [email protected], we will delete it from the leads log and from the mailboxes and confirm that we have done so.

Your rights under POPIA

The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) gives you the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Object to the processing of your information

To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected], or contact us by WhatsApp or through the contact form on this website. We will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
